Full Itinerary

Full itinerary

Your driver will await you at the back of This is Holland. Within 15 minutes, we have left the busy city center of Amsterdam behind and your day of exploring the Amsterdam Lake District, visiting Giethoorn and shopping in Batavial Stad Fashion Outlet will start.

We’ll pass meadows, cows, ditches, windmills, dikes and idyllic landscapes as we make our way to the world famous Afsluitdijk. This dam connects the two northern provinces, and protects half of the country against the force of the North Sea. It’s also the gateway to the Amsterdam Lake District.

Time to explore this dam! Find out why it’s so important for the Lake District, walk across to see the North sea, climb the monument (a watch tower looking out across both the IJsselmeer and the North Sea), or take a picture with its founder, Mr. Lelie.

Then we enter the Amsterdam Lake District, located in the province of Friesland. We will visit the picturesque village of Woudsend. Our local guide will show you the beauty of the village; a traditional windmill where you will meet the miller, a maze of alleys and paths, a beautyfull church, a wood sawmill, and many beautiful houses.

Next up is Giethoorn. Make sure your camera is ready to capture this beautiful, village without roads. During the 1 hour boattrip you will enjoy the beautiful canals, picturesque wooden bridges and many wonderful farmhouses. Afterwards you have time to discover the village on your own or enjouy lunch in one of the restaurants.

Now it’s time to go shopping. Batavia Stad Shopping Village is a shopping village with charming streets and squares and unique architecture with over 250 Dutch and international fashion brands. Here you will have free time to shop, eat, drink and admire the beauty of this village.

Once the afternoon draws to a close, it’s time to head back to Amsterdam to enjoy your evening in the city.
