Full itinerary

Your driver will await you at the back of This is Holland. Within 15 minutes, we have left the busy city center of Amsterdam behind and your Tulip Fields, Windmills and Local Experiences VIP Tour has started. With a maximum of 8 VIP’s in our luxury mini van you will have a great tour with your driver as a personal guide.

We’ll pass meadows, cows, ditches, windmills, dikes, idyllic landscapes, and many colorful tulip fields as we make our way to the world famous Afsluitdijk. This dam connects the two northern provinces, and protects half of the country against the force of the North Sea. It’s also the gateway to the Amsterdam Lake District.

Time to explore this dam! Find out why it’s so important for the Lake District, walk across to see the North sea, climb the monument (a watch tower looking out across both the IJsselmeer and the North Sea), or take a picture with its founder, Mr. Lelie.

Then we enter the Amsterdam Lake District, located in the province of Friesland. Next up is picturesque open air museum “Allingawier”. Make sure your camera’s ready to capture the sights! Meet the villagers, and travel back in time with a craftsman as your local guide. Explore the interior of an old Dutch farmhouse, walk across the grasslands, and find out what happened to the lake… A typical Dutch Farmers Lunch will await you at the restaurant (included in the tour).

After lunch, it’s time to visit a traditional Dutch cheese-maker. Here, you will learn all there is to know about cows, making cheese, and the different types of cheese. And of course you will try some delicious Dutch varieties: “Lekker!”

Now it’s time for 2 typical Dutch highlights. First we will visit a traditional windmill where we will meet the miller. Furthermore a guided tour through a picturesque village will give you a close look inside the life of the locals. After this unique visit it’s time to visit the wold famous tulip fields. The tulips only bloom for a couple of weeks each spring, so strike a pose, say cheese, and take plenty of pictures.

Once the afternoon draws to a close, it’s time to head back to Amsterdam to enjoy your evening in the city.
